About

We live in an IT-age where new forms of media dominate the Internet. Keeping a web log – or blog – has become increasingly popular amongst Internet users, and healthcare professionals are not spared. Doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals have so much stories to tell… they overspill into the realms of the Internet. And so arose the medical blogosphere, best represented by Grand Rounds, set up by Dr Nicholas Genes, currently maintained by Dr Val Jones and Colin Son.

Back in Jul 2007, I realised there was no surgical equivalent. There was Grand Rounds, but no Surgical Grand Rounds!  So, I decided to set up SurgeXperiences . It was born out of a desire to represent the surgical field in the medical blogosphere.

SurgeXperiences represents “Surgical” and “Experiences”. Realising that the field of surgery encompasses experiences of not just surgeons, this newly-minted name seeks to be all-inclusive.

SurgeXperiences (Surgical Grand Rounds) is registered with Blog Carnival and was featured on Medscape previously.

SurgeXperiences – where we share our surgical experiences.

A note should be made that depending on the popularity and response of the medical blogosphere, frequency may be increased to once every 2 weeks.
